Take your pick, depending on your definition of what constitutes a “meeting.” The traditional threshold for a “group” has been 10 sleeping rooms or more. A recent study by PhoCusWright arbitrarily redefined the category to include “two or more households traveling overnight to one or more location(s) for a common purpose or event, be it social, business or some other reason.” That’s much too broad for me, as is the survey’s estimate of 2006 group and meeting revenue of $l64 billion.
