Today’s industry buzz is the move of Greg Ortale from MeetMinneapolis, where his 20-year leadership put that city on the national convention map, to Houston where he will become bureau president and CEO. For me, it’s a story about an old friend returning home. Ortale, who worked at the Houston CVB from 1979-1987, has been an enthusiastic advocate of every creative initiative I’ve been part of in my 30-year career, most recently MeetMinneapolis’ charter sponsorship of the meetpete.org blog.
