A rabid football fan (Is there any other kind?), meetpete is old enough to remember when home team games were blacked out on local televsion. I had to listen on the radio when my beloved Giants were beaten by Johnny Unitas and the Colts in the 1958 Championship Game. In 1986, I had the out-of-body experience of being in the Rose Bowl when the ‘Gints won their first Super Bowl. So it’s no surprise that I was absolutely transfixed by the recent month-long road trip that took the Giants from Tampa to Phoenix, with stops along the way in Dallas and Green Bay. Sunday, when the most memorable Super Bowl in history was decided by an improbable last-minute “bomb,” no one got killed or maimed; in a world gone crazy, that is the beauty of sport.
